Prompt: You Can't Fake It You can't fake it. It shows through. Your worst qualities dig to the surface in everything you do. Your most hateful quirks will be present everywhere, and everyone will always see them.Prompt: You Can't Fake It by ~SummonerWolf
You can't fake it and you can't hide it, so shout it to the world.
I am melodramatic a drama queen among drama-paupers. I flaunt my emotions and flair my feelings. I tip back my head and press the back of my hand to my skull woe! Whether the occasion calls for it or not, I'll pull it as far and as long as I can.
It wouldn't matter if I could control it. If I knew what I was supposed to feel, then I'd know what was too much to feel.
But I

'Personal' Therianthropy Lately, Ive noticed some talk on Werelist about just how much publicity we as a community really want. Some believe it would be wonderful to have therianthropy become well-known, while others would just as soon keep themselves secret.'Personal' Therianthropy by ~SummonerWolf
I can respect either opinion. Its the people who insist that no therian should want to tell anyone about their therianthropy that perplex me. These people tell other therians that therianthropy is a personal thing that shouldnt be shared with anyone, and seem to be convinced that anyone who wants to make their therianthropy public or even semi-public cannot possibly be a serious, true t

The Differences Between.... Pack: noun; a family group of mammals who rely on one another for survival. The Differences Between.... by ~SummonerWolf
The therian definition of pack is a joke. We all know it. A bunch of random lonely strangers join a forum together and act like they have some sort of bond with one another. Sometimes, rules and strict hierarchies are enforced, and they become a militant bunch of random lonely strangers joining a forum together. Other times, these forums are no more than roleplaying sites with delusions of grandeur. Most of the time, these places do not even foster friendship, let alone packmate relationships.
I am not here to tell you I am different, let al

Meeting Ody -Narrative- As I open the car door and get out, eyes flashing nervously, I feel my muscles pull tighter, tighter, too tight until I begin to shake uncontrollably. My teeth clench and I push the shaking somewhere else: into my haunches, where it sits like a frightened dog in a thunderstorm.Meeting Ody -Narrative- by ~SummonerWolf
Cody opens the door and walks out, greeting me and raising his arms out away from his side (in a hug?).
I stand sideways awkwardly and size him up, tail wagging slowly, cautiously. He has a soft face with the beginning of scruff on his chin, and his brown hair curls in front of his face. He is skinny, I realize, and when he lowers his arms

The Number One Misconception Therianthropy is not about a god, or about a set of rules. Animal people do not follow commandments, or have a heaven. Otherkin do not all go to a church, or have spiritual leaders. The Number One Misconception by ~SummonerWolf
Therianthropy is more about the way you think than what you believe. It is about instincts and perception and the way it all fits together.
When I let out a growl, it is not a small prayer to some deity above; its my natural reaction to being challenged. When I yelp, it is not a religious incantation only a fear noise that seems logical to me to avoid confrontation. When I wrestle around, its not because my god wants me to; it

Rereading it again, I suddenly realized how you'd consciously given shape to the poem, and it seems to give it more power, as if you're actually articulating it, almost allowing me to follow an actual 'train' of thought.
It's a very powerful message all in all. I haven't identified as a therian, and I don't know if I will. But that does not mean I don't know a good poem when I see one.
And I don't know if it's because I'm half-asleep or just not looking at it properly, but I keep noticing things, like how the first three sections begin and end with the same phrases.
Just one question, though: in the second section, the beginning and ending lines aren't aligned. Was that intentional, or a rogue keyboard?

As for your question: No, the unaligned lines weren't intentional, and I really ought to go fix that. When I get back to my other computer, I will. Thanks for the reminder. xD
